Summary of Role:
The Senior Account Executive interacts with clients on a day-to-day basis while developing and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives.
This individual will prepare applications, specifications and marketing strategy for new business as well as the renewals of assigned clients with independence including on difficult lines.
This role requires the employee to take on the role of lead consultant and primary point of contact for clients.
The Senior Account Executive may work on large, complex accounts with large premiums and multifaceted coverages.
We offer the flexibility of a hybrid schedule, and minimal days in our Voorhees, NJ office.
What You'll Do:
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with middle markets through complex and large clients; Act as the subject matter expert on Property & Casualty and carrier products and services.
Maintains and manages solid relationships with clients and carrier sales representatives.
Negotiates with carriers for the best possible result.
Requires expertise in multi-line accounts with more complex coverages including retrospective rating plans and/or Captives for large lines of coverages and foreign packages.
Keep clients apprised of appropriate industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issues.
May have on-site meetings with clients and carriers.
Maintains a follow-up system to ensure policies, endorsements and other information is received to comply with requests.
Will supervise a small account team and provide training and mentorship.
What We're Looking For:
Excellent written communication skills – writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively; able to read and interpret written information
Self-confident to make sound independent decisions
Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people/personalities
Ability to make local on-site client visits/meetings as required
Strong leadership skills
Possess technical expertise plus good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle situations in a calm, courteous and professional manner
Ability to occasionally travel to client meetings in the Long Island/NYC area
Education and/or Experience:
BA/BS preferred
Typically more than 8 years of industry and product line experience.
Managing a book of at least 10M in premium
Experience with any of these client types: Real estate - required.
Additionally preferred: contractors, non-profits, distributors, restaurants, hospitality
Agency Management System, Epic preferred
Demonstrated mentorship and/or leadership experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
Property & Casualty Broker's License required
CIC, CPCU or other P&C designation preferred
