Sustainability Partnerships Manager (Workforce) KGSB Office of the Dean - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (24000517) Become the champion of one of the workstreams designed to leverage the Center's unique position as part of an academic institution while also responding to new issues raised by the pandemic and the growing climate crisis.
The Workforce 100% Workstream efforts will increase the number of companies that turn rhetoric into action with strategies toward workforces 100% representative of their communities with decent work for all by 2030.
The Sustainability Partnerships Manager, Workforce for the Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) creates, implements, and assists in program delivery relating to thriving work for all.
Serves as liaison between internal and external stakeholders regarding sustainability, policies and procedures, and communications and coordinates project communications across multiple channels.
Tracks and reports metrics to document impact and improve the effectiveness of programs.
The Workforce 100% Sustainability Partnerships Manager for the Center for Sustainable Business will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of external partnerships and internal programs, using the resources of the Center to increase the number of jobs available for our target populations.
The WF100% Program is comprised of 5 subsets of target populations: Veterans, those with disabilities, those below market income, formerly incarcerated reentering society, and unions.
The role reports to the Sustainability Assistant Director of the CSB.
To effectively manage external and internal obligations, the Workforce 100% Manager will also be required to manage a team of employees who support the subsections of the workstream.
The employees will be responsible for supporting the improved recruitment and retention of workforces who fit our target population on behalf of member companies who are seeking to grow a more sustainable workforce.
The Manager will also assist the Sustainability Assistant Director in working closely with other departments and schools regarding curricula, special courses, visiting scholars, speakers, and conferences.
The incumbent will also assist the Sustainability Assistant Director as requested in gathering, organizing, and producing content for distribution to stakeholders linked to the Center, assist in preparations for the semi-annual Sustainable Business Forum meetings, and assist in organizing school-wide and campus-wide events for students, faculty, and staff to engage on sustainability-related topics, as well as anything else deemed key to the growth and vitality of the Center.
The Program Manager must be able to work with some supervision, conduct themselves and represent the Center in a professional manner, work efficiently on multiple projects, and maintain good rapport with university administrators, staff, faculty, students, and representatives, or other domestic and international partner institutions.
Occasional travel and weeknight/weekend hours may be required.
The successful candidate will be familiar with sustainability resources, programs, and initiatives in higher education settings.
The incumbent should have previous experience developing or co-leading trainings on sustainability initiatives in an educational setting.
• Must have prior experience working with student organizations; experience with student organizations that have a sustainability focus are strongly preferred.
• Experience in a university or professional setting is strongly preferred.
• Superb writing skills are vital, as well as attention to detail, multitasking capabilities, and the ability to work in an extremely fast-paced work environment.
• Microsoft Office Suite, internet-based research, and web experience are required.
• Must be able to interact well with people at all levels.
• Other required skills include familiarity and experience with managing social media accounts.
Job Summary Creates, implements, and assists in program delivery relating to resource use reduction, sustainability, and educational partnerships with external stakeholders.
Serves as liaison between internal and external stakeholders regarding sustainability, policies and procedures, and communications, including and coordinating projects and related communications across multiple channels.
Tracks and reports metrics to document impact and improve the effectiveness of partnerships.
Leverages sustainability knowledge to support and build existing and grow a portfolio of strategic corporate, nonprofit, and government partnerships.
Cultivates industry sponsored research and technology licensing opportunities.
Assists with preparing reports and supporting business planning processes.
Essential Functions Desk, phone and computer work.
Physical Effort Position is mostly sedentary but may require some ability to travel to various meetings on and off campus, and to conferences via car or airplane.
