Astrobotic Technology wants you to engage civil and commercial space customers for new business capture.
The Senior Director will manage relationships with government and private sector customers; sell the company's capabilities and offerings to senior customer representatives; identify new opportunities for sales and bring them back to business development capture leads; inform business development strategy in the formation of offerings; and lead customer-minded strategy for civil and commercial sales across the company.
The Director will report to the Vice President of Business Development, interface with business development directors leading capture efforts for technical departments, and interact with the technical departments themselves as needed.
Job Responsibilities: Identify, pursue, educate, and sell to new and existing customers Lead and own non-CLPS lunar lander payload sales Identify new opportunities in the civil and commercial sales markets for Astrobotic’s existing capabilities as well as those it could develop Develop customer-facing sales materials on the company for civil and commercial space customers Regularly meet and maintain relationships with customers at NASA Centers and HQ as well as prime contractors for civil space opportunities Lead onsite customer visit planning and hosting Develop government relations strategy for the civil and commercial space portfolio and take on its execution Seed new contracting opportunities with government and commercial customers Work with the technical department capture leads in business development to inform and assist capture strategies for government solicitations Inform and guide proposal development with win strategies, and contribute proposal sales content to the proposal development team where appropriate Maintain and develop an awareness of the customer and competitive environments as well as stay abreast of customer needs, industry trends, and competitive offerings Contribute to internal discussion and analysis of the external environment as part of the company’s strategic assessments and resulting business activities Contribute to company messaging activities in support of marketing and branding efforts, as well as media outreach Travel to visit potential customers and strategic partners Own customer relationship management tracking for civil and commercial space customers Other duties that support the expansion of this growing, entrepreneurial company Required Skills & Qualifications: BA/BS with 6-8 years of experience in the space industry Familiarity with business development processes and practices Awareness of and familiarity with the government and commercial satellite communities A demonstrated track record of sales success in space or technical sales Ability to establish a strong rapport with the Astrobotic team and the customer community Experience with or training in a business environment Personal comfort in a professional setting Track record of developing marketing collateral for new products Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to deliver engaging presentations Ability to identify opportunities, create a business plan, qualify targets, assess decision-makers, and prioritize sales efforts Willingness to relocate to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Desired Skills & Qualifications: An engineering or technical background a strong plus Salary Range: $130,000 - $180,000 The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position.
The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and the candidates professional experience.
Base salary is just one component of Astrobotic’s competitive total rewards strategy.
