Reports to the Center Director and is a salaried, exempt position.
Responsible for planning the center School to Career and Work Based Learning Programs.
Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: workplace relations and ethics; information management; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independent living.

• Works with Center staff, employers, organized labor, and the community to establish positive work-based learning sites.
• Plans and coordinates activities to bring together the appropriate persons, including employers, educators, trainees, and center staff to ensure the success of the School to Career/Work-based Learning program.
• Generates work site opportunities that best match the training capabilities and needs of trainees with employers’ requirement.
• Escorts potential employers on center tours; serves as guest speaker on and off center to promote the School to Career program.
• Serves as liaison between the center and various work sites, employers, schools, and military.
• Serves as liaison with the Career Development departments in monitoring the coordination of center academic and vocational training and work site learning.
• Oversees the establishment of Industry Councils and Community Relations Council • Works with the Center Director on running the industry Councils and Community Relations Councils.
• Ensures that the Center has a positive public image in the community and the state.
• Maintains an excellent relationship with state and local elected officials to ensure positive public image for the Center and the Job Corps Program as a whole.
• Coordinates public outreach efforts with the National Job Corps Association as required.
• Schedules and transports trainees to work sites.
• Visits work sites to monitor trainee progress.
• Counsels trainees on their evaluations.
• Serves as substitute teacher to allow the vocational instructors to visit work sites periodically.
• Submits all required reports.
• Attends required staff training sessions.
• Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency.
• Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
• Cultivates and maintains a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements: • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Prefer Bachelor’s degree or four years’ professional experience working with youth.
Two years’ experience in marketing, sales, or counseling related areas.
• Prefer supervisory experience.
• Valid State driver’s license in the state of employment with acceptable driving record.
Additional Requirements: Good understanding of the local community and employer base.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate with and relate to trainee base.
Position requires an ability to operate office equipment.
In addition, individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.
Working Conditions: This position involves frequent sitting and occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and running.
Applicant must be able to see, hear, and speak.
Environmental Demands: Position requires ability to spend 5% of work time outside and 95% of work time indoors; ability to withstand moderate noise levels, including voice levels 90% of work time; ability to work in high temperature settings during the summer months; and ability to work in low temperature settings in winter months.
