We want you to join our team! The Workforce Business Systems Analyst plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business and technology.
They are responsible for ensuring that IT systems and solutions align with the organization's strategic objectives and contribute to its success.
The Workforce BSA will collaborate with IT and Business stakeholders to define and validate complex business solutions, develop application strategies, and maintain healthy business relationships.
Location: Hybrid, downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Job Responsibilities: Functional subject matter expert for Workforce Software Time and Attendance Ability to unravel complex Union Bargaining Agreements and clearly translate into pay rules within Workforce.
Conduct requirements analysis to understand business needs and challenges.
Design and document system solutions, including process flows, data models, and user interfaces.
Document user stories and acceptance criteria that captures intended product behavior and user experience in sufficient detail for downstream activities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure solutions meet requirements.
Obtain key inputs from Enterprise Architecture, CyberSec, and InfoSec teams to identify solution technical requirements and interdependencies.
Develop and implement testing plans that align with acceptance criteria to ensure system functionality.
Create and maintain system documentation, when necessary Recommend and implement system upgrades and enhancements.
Stay up-to-date on new technologies and trends in business systems analysis.
Work closely with Product Owner and Development resources Manage ongoing relationships with business partners to drive satisfaction with IT.
Facilitate creative problem-solving sessions.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Areas of Responsibility Strategic Planning and Analysis: Partnering with business leaders to understand long-term goals and translate them into actionable IT strategies.
Identifying and analyzing trends to anticipate future business needs.
Performing risk assessments and recommending mitigation strategies.
Process Improvement and Optimization: Identifying inefficient or outdated business processes.
Designing and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
Analyzing and optimizing existing systems to maximize their performance.
Automating manual tasks wherever possible to reduce costs and improve accuracy.
Business Partnering and Collaboration: Building strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization.
Acting as a trusted advisor to business leaders on IT-related matters.
Communicating complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Facilitating workshops and training sessions to promote understanding of new systems and processes.
Knowledge Sharing and Training: Sharing best practices and lessons learned with the team.
Developing and delivering training programs for new and existing BAs.
Staying up-to-date on the latest industry trends and technologies.
Participating in professional development activities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Education and Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Seven (7) years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications Extensive knowledge in Time and Attendance Workforce Software Extensive knowledge and experience with implementing configurations based on collective bargaining agreements in Workforce Software Experience with integrating time and attendance applications with external solutions Technical experience with Time and Attendance Workforce Software Workforce Certifications (Partner and/or Customer level certifications are acceptable): CT101 Time Fundamentals CT102 Time Basic Configuration CT103 Time Advanced Configuration CT104 Time Complex Configuration Workforce custom report development Workforce Analytics Previous experience working within the Utility Sector under a heavily matrixed organizational structure.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Utilized in this Role Understanding and advocacy of Agile practices, including Scrum Methodology Data structures and algorithms Software development process Software testing Problem-solving skills, including creativity, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Communication skills: the ability to write clear and concise documentation, give presentations, and participate in technical discussions.
Teamwork skills: the ability to collaborate effectively with others and share ideas.
Adaptability: the ability to be adaptable to project changes and a willingness to learn new things.
Scope Primary Focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting.
Accountable for managing one's own time and workflow and leads projects and/or large project steps.
Work is complex in nature requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role.
Acts independently the majority of the time, requiring guidance in only complex situations.
Has well established capabilities, acts as a resource to less experienced staff on moderately complex issues.
Decision Impact Problems and issues faced are vague and require analysis of multiple sources of information for solution.
Draws on significant past experience to perform role.
Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making.
Hybrid Work Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely.
Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
Storm Roles All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset.
Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position, as duties can vary across the Company.
Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc.
Data Governance Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
