OVERVIEW:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis and decision support for the Merchandising team through support of project analytics, weekly dashboard reporting & insights, and vendor profitability work.
Additionally, position will lead Test & Learn process to evaluate, track, and measure impact of financial investments and strategic initiatives across Merchandising.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Merchandising Attack Team Financial Support
Lead financial analysis in support of various Merchandising attack teams
Develop and analyze reporting and dashboards for strategic initiatives and financial results
Support the CAPEX process, including the coordination of business cases for Merchandising initiatives
Test & Learn Analytics
Leverage Test & Learn Analytics to identify key performance drivers and help stakeholders make smarter business and investment decisions
Influence test design and site selection to ensure results are unbiased and representative of the chain
Effectively summarize test results and utilize findings to perform ROI and hindsight analyses
Vendor Profitability
Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to maintain and update the National Vendor P&L model, facilitating the development of National Vendor P&Ls and contractual terms comparisons
Leverage P&Ls to identify opportunities and risks to vendor profitability and determine levers to drive improved vendor terms
Provide financial support to PAR/Merchandising for vendor contract term negotiations
Financial Analysis & Ad-Hoc Analytics
Execute ad-hoc analytics to support key Merchandising strategies, business initiatives and Investor Relations data requests
Communicate financial insights and recommendations to key stakeholders to make informed business decisions
Participate in special projects where a Finance perspective is required or requested by Management
Support automation efforts for FP&A to streamline weekly/monthly reporting
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
Three to five years of finance or marketing experience
Proficient in Excel
Financial Modeling Skills
Peoplesoft Experience
Hyperion Budgeting and Forecast System
Ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task
