*Position:* Communications and Administrative Coordinator
*Location:* HMA office and remote

*Reports to:* Chief Operating Officer
*Summary: *The Communications and Administrative Coordinator is an energetic individual who is responsible for developing and implementing communications with member companies and the industry as a whole, as well as enhancing the organization’s effectiveness to its membership.
The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of current computer applications and social media platforms.
The position requires an individual who is conscientious, self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, and a team player.
The applicant should possess strong time management and organizational skills necessary to handle a variety of tasks within time restraints and changing priorities.
*Primary Responsibilities*
_Education and Industry Development_
* Stay atop industry news via a variety of online and print publications
* Become knowledgeable with content on our websites: _HMAmembers.
org_, _HardwoodInfo.
com_, and _CypressInfo.
org_
* Develop and eventually manage social media content for the HMA, American Hardwood Information Center, and Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association
* Help develop content and maintain websites
_General Office_
* Respond to website inquiries
* Maintain and order supplies as necessary
* Answer the office phone when on site
_Communications_
* Work with the COO to write, design, proof, and distribute issues of _The Link_ and _Mid-Month Update_ newsletters.
* Prepare and distribute electronic versions of all meeting reminders
* Prepare and distribute miscellaneous electronic communiques and announcements
* Update company and contact records in the HMA database and MailChimp account
* Produce and distribute new member welcome letters/packets for the HMA and SCMA
* Produce and distribute Board of Directors manuals
* Prepare and distribute prospective member packets
_Meetings_
* Work with the COO to handle meeting planning—including, but not limited to: site review, speaker selection, scheduling, audio-video arrangements , food and beverage selections
* Assist with a variety of tasks on site at the National Conference and Expo, as well as the spring and fall Regional Meetings
* Assist in maintaining meeting information on the HMA member website
* Assist in processing meeting registrations and maintaining active meeting records
* Assist in preparation and distribution of HMA National Conference and Expo exhibitor contracts
* Assist in the preparation of the National Conference events guide
* Assist in the development of National Conference PowerPoint slides
*Qualifications*
* Associate or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, journalism, English, media, or related field
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; familiar with AP Style Guide
* Social media page management and content development experience preferred
* Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Familiar with email marketing platforms (MailChimp) and content management systems (such as WordPress)
* Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), as well as online graphic design platforms (Adobe Spark, Canva)
* Ability to learn and implement new technologies and software
* Detail oriented
* Ability to work independently and in teams
* Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
* Must be able to travel periodically
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.
00 - $55,000.
