This is a really odd, fun guitar.
It's a Tomoyasu Hotei (lead guitarist for the Japanese pop-rock band Boowy) model, which, from what I can find, were mostly made by Fernandez.
Samick was probably the manufacturer for Fernandez, and this one was released with the Samick branding.
These were only in the Japanese market, and weren't available in the US.
I don't know an exact manufacturing date.
But I'd guess early 1990s, maybe late 80s
I purchased this from a seller in Russia a few years ago.
It's a really nice guitar, and it plays really well.
There are a few nics and scratches, and a finish crack by the neck pocket.
But there are no glaring blemishes, or structural or electronic issues, orany atypical wear for a guitar this age.
It's a great instrument, it just doesn't get played as much as my other guitars.
