For sale is a seller-restored estate sale antique violin.
The conditions of the violin, bow, and the case at the estate sale are shown in the first picture.
The violin has an inside label that states:
Eduard Reichert
Dresden, fecit anno 1899
Online research reveals that Instruments bearing the “Eduard Reichert” label were some of the many instruments handmade by luthiers in the German towns of Markneukirchen and Dresden at the end of 19th and start of the 20th century.
The violins were then imported to America by G.

Pfretzschner, a family company tracing its history of violin and bow makers to the late 17th century.
Pfretzschner instruments were known for their use of excellent European woods and beautifully figured backs.
The violin, bow, and the case have been restored to fully functional conditions as shown in pictures.
The violin is amazingly beautiful for its 200-plus-year age, with only a few unnoticeable dings.
There is a visible hair crack on the left upper top (see last two pictures of the violin, before cases pictures).
The crack is not opened yet, being stopped by upper purfling.
The sound of this violin is very well balanced, with a strong and robust lower register, a reliable middle register, and a sweet upper register.
The instrument has also had fitted with fine tuners, so tuning is pleasingly easy.
