Position Summary: The Kitchen Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen.
This role is vital to the efficient functioning of the culinary team, as it directly supports the chefs and kitchen staff in delivering high-quality food to our guests.
Responsibilities: The Kitchen Dishwasher's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Dishwashing and Sanitization: - Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Ensure all kitchen items meet health and safety standards.
Kitchen Cleanup: - Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dishwashing areas.
- Dispose of trash, recycling, and food waste in a responsible manner.
Supporting Kitchen Staff: - Assist the kitchen team with basic food prep, such as chopping vegetables or plating dishes.
- Follow instructions from the chefs or kitchen manager to contribute to kitchen operations.
Equipment Maintenance: - Monitor and report any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or maintenance needs.
- Keep the dishwashing area tidy and well-organized.
Health and Safety: - Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent cross-contamination.
- Ensure that cleaning chemicals are handled and stored safely.
Communication: - Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding dishwashing needs and requirements.
- Report any issues or concerns to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Efficiency: - Work efficiently to keep up with the pace of the kitchen, especially during busy service times.
- Assist in restocking kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
